Hillsborough Law Now is a campaign created by the families of the victims of the Hillsborough disaster, along with campaigners and legal experts who seek to address the issues of transparency and accountability in public inquiries.
The Hillsborough Law is a proposed piece of legislation aimed at improving the transparency and accountability of public authorities during inquiries, particularly in cases of public disasters or tragedies. It was inspired by the experiences of the families affected by the Hillsborough disaster in 1989, where 97 Liverpool Football Club fans died due to poor crowd management which led to crushing during the match.
Over the years, the Hillsborough Law Now campaign has gained momentum through the tireless efforts of various individuals, including family members of the victims, legal professionals, activists, and supporters who advocated for legislative changes to ensure that similar tragedies could be properly investigated and prevent similar injustices in the future.
We are proud to support this campaign and encourage our members to pledge their support by visiting Hillsborough Law Now and getting involved.
